How she walks in those things, we don’t know. Fashion maven Victoria Beckham made a splash during a weekend appearance at Macy’s Herald Square in a pair of shiny, gravity-defying boots - without a heel. The unusual thigh-high footwear is constructed out of PVC, a durable form of plastic often used to create records, vinyl siding and pipes among other things.

Having a heel is really just psychological,” designer Antonio Berardi, who created the shoes, told Britain’s The Sun newspaper. “They are graceful and there is a ballerina nature about them.”The shoes have a long sole which supports the arch of the foot, erradicating the need for a heel.
